BITS recently assisted Grant Thornton LLP in preparing technical specifications for the computerization and networking of the tax administration offices for the Ministry of Finance of Poland. This wide-area network will connect 350 local tax offices and 16 regional chambers, each with their own LAN. This work was done under a grant from the U.S Trade & Development Agency.

BITS was responsible for the following:

Analyzing current tax processing systems to extract requirements

Developing a systems architecture

Analyzing telecommunication infrastructure and making recommendations for infrastructure upgrades

Identifying systems and telecommunications specifications

Identifying migration path for implementing systems architecture

Preparing a final report
